What is the MALACHI Project?

The MALACHI Project was born, when God gave me a vision.  God revealed to me a way to honor my brother and my friend Mitchell Alexander.  Brother Mitch as he was known, had many gifts, but it was his gift of encouragement that stood out.  Consequently, it seemed only natural to honor him in a way that encouraged others.  At the time God spoke to me, I happened to be in a study of the book of Malachi.  I recall how the people were presenting injured calves as offering and consequently robbing God.  From this, my realization was that it was important to always give God my best.

The Mitch Alexander Learning and Christian Helps Institute (MALACHI) is an opportunity for Christians to come together in many ways.  The initial project is a tutorial project to assist students with their academics.  The tutorial has endless growth opportunities but only represents a small part of what God revealed.

God also revealed how people could be served in ways such as how to learn a trade and become self-employed.  Examples of self-employment could include running a day care center, lawn care business or even learning to lay tile.  Nevertheless, without encouragement some folks would not ever get the chance or the exposure to such opportunities.

There is always an opportunity to serve our fellow man.  The breadth of the MALACHI Project extends itself to community causes and could somewhere down the road open a food locker or clothing locker for the community; however, the possibilities are endless and will be driven by people who catch the vision of what God can do.

Mitch Alexander was one of 55 who founded Antioch Progressive Church.  Mitch loved people and he loved Antioch.  To say that I was saddened by his home going is an understatement, but my only recourse is to stand on John 3:16 and press forward.  It is in the honor of brother Mitch that The MALACHI Project was born.
